I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love Ensemble. Last year my grades 4 through 8 performed the whole book, you should hear the words that my kids came up with for your songs... (not the last song because we only have diatonic PP). This year I have started with your second book... I can't wait to hear my kids final product.

Brent,

I saw your name and thought I'd tell you that my 5th graders are working on Canon in Dorian and loving it. In fact, I've used quite a few of your pieces with my advanced group and my older classes. Very usable and fun! Tick Tock Shock is another favorite.

The kids especially like that the pieces seem so hard at first, but then they learn them and amaze even themselves. :-)

I just started "Halloween" from Wood Songs with my Orff Ensemble this afternoon. It's going to be a challenge, but they really liked it! Having the CD example really helps!

My kids are screaming for more of your music. I have a hand-picked, after-school group that is loving Hey, Hey Jam and Noyce.


Addictive! Mesmerizing! The music of Brent Holl grabs your interest and attention is such a way that it makes it impossible to resist! My Orff ensemble cheered when I told them that I had ordered another of his books. You know you have a winner when teachers drop by during their planning period to listen to what the children are playing!


His arrangements are simple enough to facilitate quick mastery, yet intricate enough to maintain interest of the performers and audience alike. The only drawback is that he doesn't have dozens more books available!

Your fame is spreading to Houston!!! My Orff group performed at the Children's Music Festival of Houston today but I think they should rename the festival, The Brent Holl Music Festival of Houston. Here's the pieces of yours that were performed.
