November 7, 2008 - 7:00 - 9:00 and November 8, 2008 - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Virginia Highlands Orff Chapter Workshop Make a Marimba, Play a Marimba!On Friday we'll learn two marimba tunes for the Charlotte 08 conference presentation. "Halloween" by Brent Holl, and "Rutendo" by Walt Hampton will be played for the banner processional at the Opening Session of the Charlotte AOSA conference on Thursday November 13, 2008. On Saturday we'll learn some marimba music by Brent, Walt Hampton, Jon Madin and others for all levels of elementary students. Dancing, playing, and singing will all be a part of the day along with some discussion and show and tell about how making your own marimba can be a great community instrument building activity for your entire school.
