| Jane Lamb is a music teacher at Schultz Elementary School near Houston, Texas. The Klein School Board honored her as Schultz Elementary Teacher of the Year in 1996. Jane graduated from the University of Houston and has completed all three levels of her Orff certification at Southern Methodist University and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She has been a presenter for the Texas Music Educators Association on many occasions, also at the American Orff Schulwerk Association National Convention, the Gulf Coast Orff Association, the Texas Association for the Education of the Young Child, and the Early Childhood Winter Conference. Jane has two Orff books published with Shawnee Press, The Rhythm of the Seasons and Holidays and The Note Book. Soon to be published with Shawnee Press will be her third book, Island Fun with Orff and Drum. She also has published a set of five books and CDs, Songs for the Kindergarten Curriculum. |
| Jane is the director of the Schultz Shining Star Orffestra, an auditioned extra-curricular percussion ensemble. The Schultz Shining Star Orffestra performed for the elementary Orff reception at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in 1999, the opening ceremony of Drum Corps International in 2004, the Klein Independent School District Fall 2004 Convocation Ceremony, and the Pep Rally for Public Education in Houston with guest speaker, Shirley Neely, the Commissioner of Education for the state of Texas in August, 2005. For the past two years, the Orffestra has won first place for the most outstanding instrumental ensemble at the Children’s Music Festival of Houston. |
| Jane lives in Spring, Texas, with her husband, Jerry. Her daughter, Kim, is pursuing her master’s degree in music in oboe performance at the University of Southern California. Her son, Matthew, is a civil engineering major at the University of Houston. Jane is a church organist and has served as a church choir director, a children’s choir director, and is the accompanist for the Schultz Elementary School Choir . |
