Music that Works!

Beatin Path is a great source for middle school general music teachers and teachers trained in Orff Schulwerk. Rob Amchin's books for recorder ensembles are interesting for this age group and Brent Holl's ensemble pieces are great learning tools! Patrick Ware has just published Here's Two, a new collection of Jazz songs for elementary Orff ensemble and Paul Bakeman has the new volume Cooking With Marimbas. Danai Gagne's book, Singing Wind, Breathing Drums, for Drumming, Singing, Movement and Recorders is already a classic for this dynamic age group.

Many of our products are designed especially for teachers who are trained in Orff Schulwerk. For those who aren't, these books include lesson plans and teaching suggestions that will help make them exciting additions to your classroom curriculum.

The Shenandoah Valley's finest new Acoustic Folk band, Shen Fine, plays music from the heart and soul of Virginia. Their music combines stirring pub songs, vocal arrangements and dance music along with originals from the fine songwriters in the band. Shen Fine is a celtic-influenced folk ensemble whose home is the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, U.S.A. Listen to their first CD, Along the Valley Road, released in January, 2003. A second CD, Two Pints, was released in October 2004 and Granny Mary, was released on July 1, 2005.  Read a review HERE. Shen Fine released CD Primer and the Paint in March, 2006. It features friends of Shen Fine, singer Jessica Holl and guitarist, Bart Reardon. Their newest CD is titled The Songs and features Brent and Shannon singing pub songs, shantys and originals.

Find children's choir and Orff ensemble music at Beatin' Path. Michael Nichols has written five books that incorporate the Orff process with children's church music. Beatin' Path is now publishing choral and instrumental music by the reknowned organist John G. Barr. He has written a new Organ piece "Two Preludes on Brethren Hymns" honoring the tricentennial of the Brethren Church. He has composed several anthems and a full lenghth Missa Brevis as well.

Dr. Jesse Hopkins of Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA has written several new octavos for SATB choirs includingMay the Road Rise to Meet You and Go Out With Joy.

Carol Warner and Ben Heizer have added several new octavos for church choirs to the Beatin' Path catalog.

John Barr has written a collection of songs for treble choir called Amherst Melodies, featuring the poems of Emily Dickenson. Accompaniments are on organ or piano. He continues to add new octavos to his collection. Jesse Hopkin's new choral pieces are suitable for all occasions.
